How I Work

My therapeutic approach is integrative relational. The diverse nature of my training enabled me to develop a framework for practice that has the therapy relationship at its core, and which can be meaningfully tailored to the needs of each individual client. The client and I work together to make sense of their difficulties and identify any problematic patterns that may be stopping them from getting the most out of life. This is likely to involve exploring their history as well as making sense of how they think, feel and relate in the present.

Clients come to understand themselves better, manage their emotions differently and recognise that they have choices over how they think and relate to themselves and others.  We work on making changes in areas of life that the client has identified as problematic, with a view to improving their mood, overall functioning and ultimately, to helping them find greater fulfilment in life.
